Cube’s first 29er bikes!

Quality German road and mountain bike manufacturer Cube is set to launch 29inch wheeled bikes for the first time in 2012. They’re not entering the market shyly either, with no less than 10 big wheeled models which they say combine all the advantages of 29” wheels with the advantages of regular 26” wheels thanks to their ‘Agile Ride Geometry’.

Cube claim that their ‘Agile Ride Geometry’ solves the 29er ‘problems’ of longer chainstays, a higher centre of gravity and a longer wheelbase which they feel negatively influences the handling of a 29er. They found three solutions which have been integrated into the design of their new big wheeled bikes:

1. The bottom bracket height of a CUBE 29 is the same as on a 26” wheeled bike
2. The special (patent pending) positioning of the front derailleur delivers 100% performance and gives more tyre clearance so they can shorten the chainstays for quicker handling. The derailleur mount also means that the seat tube doesn't need to be bent or offset from the bottom bracket shell, so every frame size shares has identical seat angle.
3. They've used suspension forks with a custom offset, using identical head angles to the 26” wheeled version for more agile steering and handling. Plus there is more clearance between the rider's feet and the front wheel compared to competing 29ers.

The new 29ers

Elite Super HPC 29" & Reaction GTC 29".

These are Cube’s top end carbon hardtails with sporty handling.

AMS 120 29

This is an addition to Cube’s all mountain full-suspension range which climbs neutrally and is confident on the downhills.

LTD and Competition Series 29

Limited series comprises the LTD PRO and SL, built with Aluminum Superlite and the Competition series comprises the ATTENTION and ACID made with Aluminium Lite.

TWO 15

This new 29” downhill bike will have even more travel than the Hanzz downhill bike thanks to input from Fox Racing Shox’s Eamonn Cleere and downhiller André Wagenknecht.

29" E-MTB - CUBE Epo 29

Following the successful introduction of the EPO series last year, it will be expanded this year by a 29er mountain bike.
