Touring bikes are designed to carry luggage on racks that are mounted to the back and the front of the frame. They tend to have little suspension and less chunky tyres than the average mountain bike, for on-road use. They may also have mud guards and extra water bottle mounts, supporting their ability to carry rider and luggage over large distances. (more info)
