About Specialized Shiv bikes
Designed to be as aerodynamic and fast as possible, Shiv is Specialized's non UCI-legal triathlon bike range designed for competitors of events such as the Ironman series. The Shiv Elite A1 uses an aluminium frame but all other models in the range use a carbon fibre frame with all carbon models using Specialized's integrated hydration system which eliminates airflow disturbance typically found on water bottle mounted setups. The hydration reservoir on carbon models (approximate capacity of one litre) cleverly slots through a port on the top tube into the down tube. A moveable magnetic mount allows you to place the bite valve anywhere on the bars. This ingenious reservoir can also be filled up on the fly without removal. The Shiv range also offers a number of fit adjustments for fine tuning comfort such as reversible / adjustable carbon seatposts, an adjustable stem, three steerer tube stack height options and multi-adjustable, integrated aero bar system (alloy or carbon depending on model). A non UCI legal S-Works Shiv Module is available as a frame and forks only combination. A UCI legal S-Works Shiv TT Module for time trial racing is also available as a frame and forks only combination.
Specialized says
We ignored UCI rules and designed the Shiv exclusively for triathlon: with unmatched aerodynamics, the Fuelselage integrated hydration system, and a huge range of fit adjustability. Add your favourite spec to the S-Works module's ultralight FACT IS 11r carbon frame, S-Works carbon crankset, and Specialized Carbon Aerobar.
