About Scott Spark 29 Carbon Fibre bikes

Spark 29 Expert, Pro and RC are Scott's carbon fibre framed, performance level, full suspension Mountain Bikes with 100mm of front and rear suspension travel. These light-weight bikes are ideal for more serious cross country riders and trail riding with the top of the range models ideal for competition use. The Spark 29 Comp, Team and Elite are cheaper aluminium framed models ideal for the weekend warrior looking for a cross country / trail riding machine. All models in the Spark 29 range (except the Spark 29 Comp) boast Scott's unique handlebar mounted Twin Loc suspension lockout system which uses one lever to operate the lockout function on both the front and rear suspension. One click locks out the suspension forks and switches the rear shock to traction mode and two clicks locks out both the front and rear suspension simultaneously. The Scott Spark (except the Spark 29 Comp) is also the only XC/Marathon bike that currently offers an adjustable BB height / geometry which can be adjusted by removing and flipping the shock mount chip located at the rear of the shock. This adjusts the bottom bracket height by 7mm and the head tube angle by 0.5 degrees. The Spark 29 Team, Elite, Expert, Pro and RC also features a tapered headtube for increased stiffness and steering control. The Scott Spark Expert and Pro both use HMF carbon fibre whereas the top end Spark RC also employs Scott's even stiffer HMX carbon fibre. A range of 26" wheeled Spark models is also available with 100mm of front and rear suspension travel and either an aluminium or carbon fibre frame. For a range of full suspension bikes with even more travel consider Scott's Genius range which offers 150mm of front and rear suspension travel.

Scott says

The Spark 29ers are suitable for everyday riders as well as for Endurance racers. These bikes have more suspension travel than the Scales, but are still very weight conscious.

The Spark 29 RC is a full suspension HMF carbon fiber bike that is the perfect partner for marathons, stage races, and all day fun.
