Scott says

The Genius LTs can handle any trail any time. They are the ultimate bikes for backcountry and big mountain riding becasue they pedal efficiently and offer longer suspension travel to handle technical descents.

The hydroformed 6061 alloy Genius LT 40 with a mix of Shimano and SRAM parts gives you 185 mm of adjustable travel to pedal efficiently uphill before you shred back downhill.
