About Scott Genius LT bikes

With 180mm of front and 185mm rear suspension travel, Genius LT is Scott's full suspension Mountain Bike designed to tackle demanding trails and technical descents and is ideal for challenging trail centre routes or more testing off road riding. The Genius LT 30 and 40 are the cheaper, aluminium framed versions made using 6061 custom butted aluminium alloy. The Genius LT 20 uses HMF carbon fibre whereas the top end Genius LT 10 also employs Scott's even stiffer HMX carbon fibre. All models in the Genius range boast Scott's unique handlebar mounted Twin Loc suspension lockout system which uses one lever to operate the lockout function on both the front and rear suspension. One click locks out the suspension forks and switches the Equalizer 3 rear shock to traction mode (110mm travel) and two clicks locks out both the front and rear suspension simultaneously. The Scott Genius LT also features an adjustable BB height / geometry which can be adjusted by removing and flipping the shock mount chip located at the upper shock mount. This adjusts the bottom bracket height by 8mm and the head tube angle by 0.7 degrees. All models also feature a tapered head tube for increased stiffness and steering precision. For a range of full suspension Mountain Bikes with less travel consider Scott's Genius range with 150mm of front and rear suspension travel. For a range of full suspension Mountain Bikes with similar amounts or more suspension travel designed for freeriding consider Scott's Voltage FR range.

Scott says

The Genius LTs can handle any trail any time. They are the ultimate bikes for backcountry and big mountain riding becasue they pedal efficiently and offer longer suspension travel to handle technical descents.

The HMX carbon fiber Genius LT gives you 185 mm of adjustable travel to pedal efficiently uphill before you shred back downhill.
