Contessa Scale is Scott's aluminium framed, performance level, women's hardtail Mountain Bike range with 100mm of front suspension travel for riders looking for a fast, cross country / trail riding bike. The aluminium framed Contessa Scale 30, 20, 10 models are equipped with suspension forks than can be locked out to make them rigid and hydraulic disc brakes. For the more serious cyclist or racer Scott have produced the carbon fibre framed Contessa Scale RC with 100mm of front suspension travel and a race ready specification. The Contessa Scale RC frame features a combined tubular seatstay, chainstay & dropout design to save weight and the rear triangle also uses Scott's SDS (Shock Damping System) technology which minimizes frequency vibration from the ground enabling a damping effect without loosing performance. Other Scale RC frame features include a press fit BB30 bottom bracket which increases stiffness around the bottom bracket area and saves weight and a tapered head tube for increased stiffness and steering precision. For a range of cheaper hardtail Mountain Bikes with a more comfort focused geometry consider Scott's Contessa range.

Standard SCOTT warranty on frames is 3 years from the date of purchase or 5 years with a full service history from a SCOTT dealer. SCOTT parts aside from the frame are covered by a standard 1 year warranty. Proof of purchase must be provided for every warranty claim. Other manufacturers parts on SCOTT frames are covered by their own individual warranties.
