Get inspired!
Welcome to The Big Africa Cycle website. My name is Peter Gostelow and in August 2009 I left home in England to begin cycling to Cape Town. This is my second major two-wheeled adventure. Between 2005-2008 I cycled from Japan-England.
There is no specific time plan nor fixed route for the journey, but I aim to primarily follow the west African coast to South Africa, covering over 20,000km through about 25 countries.
Aside from the adventure and challenge that riding a bicycle to South Africa involves, I'm also undertaking the journey to raise awareness and funds for the Against Malaria Foundation. To follow my tyre tracks through the continent please visit my site.
