Performance
Amazingly, the padding in these specially designed Tri Shorts
was dry by the end of my 26 mile cycle round Rutland Water on the
Dambuster Olympic distance triathlon. I'd like to say that was
because of the incredible amount of heat my super fast legs were
generating, but more likely this was down to the relentless
headwind and the quick drying TriLite Chamois. Sugoi have put just
enough padding in these shorts to see you through a 
marathon distance on the
bike whilst retaining enough freedom of movement and lightness to
swim beforehand and run (or stagger in my case) afterwards. Because
of this minimal padding I would wimp out of choosing these shorts
for a training ride of the same distance, and I'd probably want
more padding for a Half Iron Man (52 miles). However for Olympic
tri distance wusses like me, they have the perfect balance of
padding to accommodate all three disciplines.
They are made from Sugoi's very comfy, quick-drying and relatively stretchy Ultra Aero fabric (79% Nylon and 21% Spandex). The flat seams and thigh grippers create zero chaffage or unwanted movement from when you first squelch on to the saddle to your final exhausted sprint to the finish line. There are also two handy key or gel pockets, one inside and one in stretch mesh at the back. These shorts have so far proved nice and durable and strike a good balance between padding and freedom of movement, with the result being that I never notice them as I swim, ride or run so can concentrate on my race.
