If you're intending on spending some quality time in the saddle then wearing a pair of padded shorts will ensure an enjoyable ride. Comfort in shorts isn't all about the chamois (a.k.a. the padded insert), they also need to be designed to fit well. These Polaris shorts have been made using a durable, breathable Lycra. The individual panels have unnoticeably comfy, completely flatlocked grey seams which also reinforce that 'Sprint' look.
Polaris use a light, soft mesh for the bib section which is highly breathable, allowing sweat to evaporate quickly from your back. Barely noticeable, soft and stretchy silicon leg grippers round your lower thigh keep these shorts firmly in place. Finally, the moulded, Coolmax chamois offers a wide, well-shaped pad of adequate thickness for long distance riding, especially at the rear. However the chamois in direct contact with the nose of the saddle would benefit from a few more millimetres of padding.
