Bum ache is my biking nemesis. Cycling long distances or a daily commute, as I regularly do, is so much more comfy with padding under your sit bones. These Daisy shorts may look cute and flowery, but they actually boast a number of great features for ladies. These 150g (size 12), stretchy shorts come in sizes 8-16 and are made with six panels to fit a woman's wider hips and thighs and smaller waist. The matt-finish fabric wicks sweat away and dries quickly and is thick enough for year round use. The seams, although flatlocked, are quite bulky, and you can feel them slightly as you ride, but rub is minimised by the well thought out elastic leg hems. These manage to be grippy without being iron-girdle like and prevent that hot pant look when you start pedalling like fury. One disappointment is that the front seam is coming apart after only 2 months wear, which I will have to sew up. The female-specific padded insert is adequate but higher density foam under the sit bone areas would make an even comfier ride. However, for £30 these shorts are great value for the ladies specific features you get. And the daisies? Well, they obviously make padded shorts so much more fashionable...
