King of the Pennines Sportive this 4 Sept!

Fly down some of the best downhill straights in the north on the King of the Pennines Sportive on Sunday 4 Sept. Pre-book to avoid disappointment for this 101mile endurance challenge for road cyclists, with over 11,000ft of heart-pumping climbing and some of the best views around. Each rider is electronically timed and the fully way-marked route takes you into the limestone splendor of Malham Cove, through Kettlewell and then full steam ahead to Dodd Fell. You’ll hit highs of over 1,900ft on the ride, watch out for strong winds on the descents and enjoy the ride past plummeting ravines, purple heather moorland and crashing streams.

For those not quite looking for this level of challenge, try the 48-mile loop, which is equally scenic but only has four steady climbs.

There are starts from 7:00-9:15am every 5 minutes and each rider is provided with OS maps, free SIS energy product, breakfast with hot drink or juice at the start and pasta meal and hot drink at the finish.

There are plenty of feed stations and mechanical stops en route, plus a sweeper wagon and support vehicle for those in need. You will also get a discount voucher for a future RideIt! event during the day there will be demo bikes and ‘Try before you Buy’ Gore Bikewear available.

You could volunteer to raise money for Leukemia & Lymphoma Research during your ride. This is optional, however funds raised will support Leukemia & Lymphoma Research’s life changing work.

The ride costs £30, click here to find out more.
