About Marin
Marin County has some of the world's best riding and we continue to take our inspiration from the same earthquake faulted landscape that inspired the early pioneers. The Mountain remains the same, but the way we ride it and the lines we take have changed. Advances in materials and construction technology, as well as ever-evolving riding styles, mean that today's Marin bikes bear only a passing resemblance to their ancestors. One thing however still unites every Marin bike ever made - the outstan

Great frame, decent groupset. Bike is let down badly by suspension which adds a lot of weight and throws the geometry way out (handlebars way too high). I got one with 40 miles on it and looking good as new and it cost me less than half list price. I spent almost £200 on a carbon cyclocross fork, easton seat stem and a lighter saddle. I changed the puncture prone tyres too. I now have a great bike for road and trails which is light fast and comfortable. For a total spend of about £550 it really is a great all round bike which I will use for the odd tour too. If you plan to buy this bike try to negotiate a rigid fork which will definitely be a massive improvement..the standard fork only has 63mm of travel so you cant do any rough stuff anyway so whats the point of pushing over 2kg,s about ? The fork is for 700c wheels so as you can see in the pictures it pushes the front end way too high. I plan to change the odd bit as I go along as things wear to improve further. Summary--great potential but let down as standard by poorly selected forks.
