Marin says

QUAD XCR: Long, low and fast, the all-new Marin Alchemist is light, tough and ruthlessly efficient. The primary design objectives for this all-new platform were to maintain the acclaimed pedaling performance of the Quad-Link 2.0 design while reducing the overall weight of the frame. Structurally, the most noticeable modification was the relocation of the rear shock to a more vertical position in the frame closer to the seat tube. Designed to satisfy your competitive edge it's ideal for fast XC riding, equally at home on the NPS starting grid or leaving your riding partners choking in your dust on the Thursday night ride.
