The Jake is perfect for recreational riding. It handles the road as well as my road bike and it handles light off-road extremely well. This bike is especially well suited to rural areas where the roads tend not to be road bike friendly. All but one of the components work smoothly--the front downshifter doesn't always work smoothly and sometimes you need to second-guess it.
