| Warranty is only valid to the original owner of the bicycle, with 5 years on the frame and rigid forks and one year on all other components. Tyres, chain, freewheel, cables and spokes are covered only for construction and or material failure. |

Most capable and versatile hybrid I have ever been on. Feels very solid and handles great. It is a little on the heavy side but even after adding another 15+lbs of accessories it rides effortlessly. The 700 X 40C tires provide good traction on rain slick roads and mild mud while still being relatively fast and smooth on dry pavement.
Since I currently live a car free lifestyle I'm on my Roam 2 all the time and I love it. I set it up utility bike style and ride it everywhere, it really is a versatile bike and I feel like I got a lot of bike for my money.
I have had only one problem and that's with it shifting a little goofy, but I ride in the rain a lot and rain always causes shifting problems. Nothing a little cleaning, lube, and adjustment won't cure. It takes time to break in and tune in a new bike so minor shifting problems are common when you're as hard on a bike as I am.
I was never a fan of Giant or hybrids (the narrow tires just never worked for me) but Giant got it right with the Roam series. Its not a road bike and its not a mountain bike but it does blend the two worlds beautifully at a price that's tough to beat.

Trying to find out more about my new Giant Roam 1. Purchased June 2010. I wanted a Hybrid with some style. I saw this bike and fell in love with the cool looks. So far I cannot find any info on this bike. Dealer said it just hit the US market. Looks like the ROAM XR 2. White with black shocks and disc. Believe its the new upgrade from the ROAM 2. Shimano EZ shift 24 gears. Kendra 700x40 Tires. I have the same saddle, frame, shocks, white on black as the Roam XR 2. As for the ride, I always used Gary Fishers MTB. I am more of a city rider in flat South Florida. The Roam 1 meets all my needs. Fast like a road bike, yet durable like mountain bike. Had it for a few weeks and I ride 4 days a week for about 15 miles each time. Did test on unpaved trails through a local park. Bit harsh on the ride with the 27 inch thin tires. Yet fast and very responsive. I blew past several guys with full suspension top dollar bikes. Great hybrid for the money. I paid total $585 US. Dealer threw in free bottle cage, water bottle, bike cover, and offered 15% off store gear for the next year.
Still will like to know why Giant does not have this bike on their catalog website???
