Eddy Merckx says
The A-Series alloy frames have a higher strength to weight index than steel, but that is no reason to use it in excess. Our triple butted tubing allows Eddy Merckx Cycles to reduce aluminium in places where it was unnecessary, and smooth welding means there are literally no joints to be seen. THE PERFORMANCE GEOMETRY frames are strong and solid with high rigidity and less weight - everything that is required for high performance cycling.
