Diamondback says

These bikes feature all that we learned from the development of the new trail frames, but they are designed around a smaller travel fork for the rider that want to use their bike for everything from the local singletrack to the ride to work. The Peak brings you top brand name components from Shimano, Truvativ and Outland. The tough upgradeable frame can be switched to discs easily and all day geometry will keep you doing just that, all for a price that won t break the bank.

I purchased this bike a couple of months ago, basically to get fit. I was surprised when I took delivery of it. The quality was better than I expected, it's great to ride fast and versatile. The only problem I have is I have now have the bug. There are many trails close to where I live, and I am using these 3 to 4 times per week. I am now in the process of upgrading to disc brakes , nothing wrong with the V brakes, it's just discs are better suited to trail riding. There is an HD version of this available which does have disc brake. Very pleased with my bike, and for the price you cant go wrong.
