Owner Reviews

My first road bike which I initially got for a racing group I joined. It's absolutely fantastic, good value for money. I did however change the pedals for some clipless ones and the two gears on the front proved difficult on tough climbs during my coast to coast. Other than that, great bike.

Excellent Bike for the money, got mine second hand for £250. I prefer the silver colour of the old Valour, but the Valour only has plain gauge tubes rather than double butted and is therefore heavier than the Vanquish. The Tiagra gears are great as they are the first proper shifters in the shimano range, they are pretty much as good as Shimano 105 but light years ahead of Shimano 2200/2300 shifters. The carbon fork also improves weight as well as reducing the weight by just under a kilo. The only real upgrades I am considering is a hollowtech chainset and maybe a carbon seat post. I would recommend buying one as you get a lot of bike for the money. If you don't like the stigma of owning a Carrera then buy a Bianchi C2C which will cost you £650 for the entry bike with Shimano 2300.
