Carrera says

The Carrera Titan Carbon Mountain Bike has a carbon fibre tubeset frame. The Titan's carbon frame provides stiffness and great handling characteristics including the ability to dampen trail vibration from bumps making for a smoother ride.

In an ordinary mountain bike frame, force is wasted when pedalling hard due to the flex in and around the bottom bracket. However, with the Carrera Titan's carbon frame the bottom bracket area and chain stays are layered with additional layers of super stiff unidirectional carbon fibre. This means more of the force you generate is transferred to the drive train and thus turning the back wheel. To sum it all up - you'll not only go faster on a Titan because it's light and also super stiff where it counts!

Was given a Carrera Titan 2010 model for free by a friend this week. he had tried upgrading parts without knowing what he was doing. Started to restore with oriinal spec parts. This boke is amazing. I cant believe how good it actually is.

Been a big Carrera fan for years ever since the flex stem adorned Carrera Quattro. It was no surprise to me to find the Titan was a top notch ride. To bring a Carbon framed bike in at under a £1000 you'd expect the quality of the components to be compromised well yes and no. Forks, gears and brakes are all quality items that you find on bikes over twice the price. Saddle, stem, seatpost, bars and grips are all no name items and I've upgraded the saddle, bars and grips.

If you can look past the name you'll find a superb specced bike at a bargain price.

Hi there,

I have upgraded from a GT Aggressor to Carrera Titan Carbon 2009 model. Initially I was a bit anxious I didn't know what to expect, it looked suspiciously cheap taking in account the components and having researched the market. Soon after I started rinding it I realized what a bargain. It is light, fast and precise. Not very happy with the tyres as there is no puncture protection, other than that is perfect. Don't hesitate to buy one, you won't regret it.
